$400,000 to conserve World Heritage site

PANAMA’S  Tourism Authority and the patronage of Portobelo and San Lorenzo have signed an agreement to improve the physical conditions of the Castillo de San Lorenzo located in the province of Colon.

The $400,000 agreement will  allow the trustees to create visitor facilities in addition to the development of a plan for the conservation of the world heritage site of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The plan includes  the construction of a receiving station for visitors, creating bathrooms, putting up posters, writing texts and rehabilitation

The investment of also includes the installation of a water treatment plant, power plant, water tanks and pumping system.
