Embezzlement suspect taken for health checks
Former Revenue Director Luis Cucalón was taken to Santo Tomás Hospital Tuesday, August 25 for medical exams.

Cucalón is being held in El Renacer Prison on corruption charges related to the Cobranzas del Istmo case.
He is accused of taking kickbacks from the company, which received a contract to collect delinquent taxes from Cucalón.
He aces a new criminal complaint filed by the Ministry of Economy and Finance for embezzlement and corruption associated with anomalies in the Cobranzas del Istmo case.
The investigation will be conducted by Fourth Anti-Corruption Prosecutor Ruth Morcillo. It is the third investigation related to the contract between the Revenue Department and Cobranzas del Istmo.
