Varela confidence in accused border chief

PRESIDENT Juan Carlos Varela has rushed to express his confidence in the man who heads the State Border Service (SENAFRONT), who is under investigation by the Public Prosecutor.

Varela said on Friday August 14 that Frank Abrego has not only fulfilled his job of cleaning the province of Darien, but has been loyal to the state.
At a public meeting, the President said that Ábrego since 2008 has led 4000, men struggling frontally against drug trafficking and organized crime.
His remarks came when asked about the allegations against Abrego received by the Public Prosecutor. The president added that the prosecution will have to follow through on the allegations. “But I have full confidence in the performance of his management and that he will be okay in any investigation,” he said.
He said that even he, as President, and other officials have been the subject of complaints, which must be withdrawn in time.
Attorney General , Porcell Kenya has reported that new claims have been added to existing ones against Abrego.
She , would not reveal the crimes of which he is accused but said they are serious, as they affect society.
“We are making inquiries and we will get to the end,” said Porcell.
