Taboga oil cleanup 90% complete
THE OIL SLICK that has closed beaches in Taboga and threatened the island’s tourism industry is 90 percent complete.
The news came from Panama Maritime Authority on Thursday, August 13
The work is being done by the agency’s Department of Pollution Prevention and Control along with residents of the island.
Beach access has been restricted while the work is being done.
The source of the pollution has yet to be determined.
The matter will be investigated by the authorities and, if applicable, criminal charges will be filed reports La Prensa
