Panama science projects get $800,000 from UK government
SIX Panamanian science and innovation projects will receive $800,000 from the Foreign & Commonwealth Office of the British Embassy. In Panama.
They were selected to receive financial support in a competition that attracted 84 proposals.
The funding will be used to further their research from August 1 until March 31, 2016.
The UK program is dedicated exclusively to fund science and innovation projects. Researchers at the Institute of High Technology Research (INDICASAT) Jagannatha Rao, Luis Mejia, Hermogenes Fernandez, Javier Sanchez, Rolando Gittens, Amador Goodridge, Armando Durant, Ricardo Lleonart, Marisin Pecchio, Ileana Rodriguez and Gabrielle Britton were authors of five of the winning projects.
The sixth project was led by Arlene Calvo with Gabrielle Britton and Arturo Rebollón.
In total, 84 proposals for scientific projects in Panama competed said Jorge Motta, National Secretary of Science, Technology and Innovation.
