Holland and Spain reject Panama tax haven label

HOLLAND has joined Spain in rejecting the European Commission (EC) report that included Panama on a list of tax havens.
Through a statement, the Dutch embassy in Panama said Friday, June 26, that it does not support the inclusion of Panama on the list.

It adds that, from 2011, the two countries have had a double taxation treaty. It said the exchange of information between the two governments to combat money laundering “is excellent.”
Panamanian officials have criticizedthe country’s  inclusion on the list, saying it is based on outdated information, and it has signed agreements with countries around the world for the exchange of tax information.
