PAN Backpack provider considered flight risk
THE MARBELLA fashion boutique owner who morphed into a backpack supplier and got a $12 million contract from the Martinelli government has been kept behind bars because she is considered a flight risk.
Poulett Morales has been detained at police headquarters in Ancón since Wednesday, June 10.
She is alleged to have defrauded the government in the sale of backpacks through the National Assistance Program (PAN.) Her lawyer, Víctor Almengor, has filed a motion seeking to have his client released.
In his motion, Almengor proposed that his client be barred from leaving the country and be forced to check in with authorities every 15 days.
