OFF THE CUFF:Ex-Public Works Minister under country arrest

ONE MORE  member of the Ricardo Martinelli Cabinet has been interrogated and had limits placed on freedom of movement for alleged involvement in the National Assistance Program (PAN) scam  which has become a euphemism for self enrichmentby  robbing the public purse.

After more than eight hours of questioning on Tuesday June 2, Jaime Ford, former Minister of Public Works was released but told not to leave the country.
He must report to authorities on the 15th and 30th of each month.
Ford is being investigated by the first anti-corruption prosecutor over alleged cost overruns in the purchase of grains by the (PAN), because he was a member of the PAN board which approved the purchase.
Upon leaving the interview, the former minister said he was unaware of the irregularities reports La Prensa.
His lawyer, Miguel Batista, said that his client is not responsible for the abuse of funds. He added that he will prove that Ford is not related to the case.
