Two more zero circle players under investigation

 TWO MORE of the once vaunted Zero (Inner) Circle of the Ricardo Martinelli administration era are under the spotlight of The Third Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office as part of the investigation into the failed Tonosí irrigation system contract in Los Santos.

Both businessmen Gabriel Gaby Btesh and Ricky Ricardo Calvo Latorraca are, like Martinelli, out of the country.
They are wanted for questioning about an alleged $10 million kickback from the Ecuadorian firm Hidalgo & Hidalgo
.Btesh must explain $360,000 of transactions received from Philip Pipo Virzi, who in turn received at least $10 million from the company after the contract. was signed.. Btesh has made headlines in the past because of his involvement in the Paitilla land grab scandal and his apperance on the presidential jet  with Martinelli, heading for a Mediterranean jaunt linked to convicted Italian fixer, Valter Lavitola  who  is involved  in a Finnmeccanica  scandal involving an alleged $25 million bribe to senior elected Panamanian officials.
Calvo appears as a signatory of ummer Venture, Inc., to which Virzi endorsed a check for $ 5.2 million in an account of the family owned Universal Bank.
Three of the board, Iof the company,  Magdalena Esposito Latorraca Calvo and Virzi himself, have been ordered to appear before Anti-corruption Prosecutor Zuleyka Moore on Wednesday, June 3, to explain the millions in payments that Virzi, a former Panama Vice-president, made to individuals and companies, including one linked to former President Ricardo Martinelli…
Prosecutors have ordered the freezing of 40 accounts linked to Virzi and $6 million of funds of Hidalgo & Hidalgo transferred to banks in the United States and South Korea.
