One dead, one escape, in West Panama taxi incidents

50 YEAR-OLD Marcos Sergio Sanchez, was hit and killed by a taxi on the Pan-American highway at the entrance to Coronado in the district of San Carlos, on Friday, May 29

The incident occurred about 10:00 pm. The victim who was thrown into the air by the impact died on the spot.
Another taxi incident unfolded in Burunga in the early hours of Saturday, the driver of a pirate taxi drew a gun on a passenger.
The passenger escaped and contacted the police. The taxi was stopped in Nuevo Arraiján, and the police seized a revolver with six bullets and found more than a pound of the drug known as crispy, and $1,000 in the driver’s pockets.
