Subsidized Flights boost French visitors 75%
The agreement with Air France to subsidize flights between Paris and Panama resulted in 75% growth in the number of big spending visitors from European countries during 2014.
The good results achieved have led to the Tourism Authority to further strengthen the shared international promotion campaign for France, asking the National Assembly for an additional appropriation of $1.5 million.
According to the Tourism Authority of Panama, it will improve air connectivity in Paris, in order to bring about increased entry of visitors from France.
In 2014 the number of visitors from France coming to Panama grew by 75.2%; while in the first three months of 2015, there was a 56.1% increase compared to last year.
In 2014, French tourists who came to Panama spent $670 per day, representing a total of 149.5 million dollars of the total $610 million spent by the rest of Europe in Panama that year.
