Panama traffic fatalities hit 170, over 1,000 injuries

 AN UNIDENTFIED pedestrian. Aged between 35 and 40-years-of-age became Panama’s 170th traffic fatality since the start of the year. There have been over 1,000 injuries, many of the serious, involving cars, trucks and buses.

He was hit at around 9 pm on Tuesday night, May 5 on Avenida de Los Mártires,, near the point known as The Edge, in El Chorrillo. He had multiple head injuries and multiple fractures said a paramedic who was called to the scene.
A source conducting investigations said the lack of lighting in the area may have been a factor in the accident
