A SECOND Former the National Assistance Program (PAN Director, is expected to reveal names of businesses and officials involved in fraudulent deals when he meets with the second anti-corruption prosecutor on Monday, January 25.
Giacomo Tamburrelli is allegedly going to give details of companies linked to former President Ricardo Martinelli that have been identified in the ongoing investigation into irregularities reports La Prensa.
Tamburrelli has previously claimed that Martinelli ordered him to sign contracts containing irregularities in the purchase of food. Martinelli has dismissed these allegations as political persecution and said that the investigation “has been planted for malicious purposes.”
In his latest testimony, Tamburrelli is expected to identify the companies Hagoca M. Group, APM Supplies and Comercializadora Galbedusa Panamá as being the recipients of questionable contracts. These companies are owned by Poulett Morales, an associate of Martinelli whose companies are also linked to irregularities in the sale of backpacks to the Ministry of Education.
From a boutique in Marbella, Morales apparently distributed stoves, various appliances, sewing machines and other ítems to PAN.
Today, Tamburrelli is expected to expand his testimony about the company’s contracts and its links to Martinelli.
Martinelli has denounced the investigation as being carried out unfairly.
“The questioning of Tamburrelli occurs under pressure and threats of a prosecutor that I will hold accountable in both civil and criminal proceedings. Consequently, nothing should be taken seriously from an investigation planted for malicious purposes and political persecution,” he said.
