PAN confession exposed criminal network ex comptrollers
TWO FORMER Panama Comptoller, Carlos Vallarino and Alvin Weeden say that the confession and revelations of the former National Assistance Program (PAN) Rafael Jaen Guardia, expose a gang or criminal network who appropriated public funds to their advantage.
Vallarino said Guardia Jaén revealed how the network operated, and replicated in several institutions to take advantage of state resources reports La Prensa
Weeden said that the group acted under the offense of a conspiracy to commit a crime, and face a severe penalty for multiple offenses.
He said that a lot of officials and businessmen were involved in illegal activities.
“This is the act of a criminal gang that is associated to commit any crimes, such as those operating in several neighborhoods of the city of Panama,” said the former official.
He added that in this case the former president of the RepublicRicardo Martinelli should be called to testify along with all his partners.
