Imprisoned PAN director suicidal lawyer
THE FORMER high living director of the National Assistance Program (PAN), Rafael Guardia, who is being held in the La Gran Joya prison, suffers from a suicidal psychiatric condition says his lawyer, Javier Quintero.
However, the lawyer denies stories circulating on the weekend that Guardia has already made an attempt to end his life.
Guardia has been evaluated by forensic specialists of the Public Ministry, and private specialists to determine if should receive psychiatric care.
Quintero said he has made a request for treatment to the prison system has received no response.

William Paradi, Fourth Anticorruption prosecutor, said if Guardia need psychiatric care it can be provided, after appropriate evaluation.
