FOUR PEOPLE were killed and over 200 injured in traffic accidents during Panama’s national holiday celebrations. Three of the fatalities were from colliding vehicles and the fourth from a collision with a fixed object.
Traffic from Panama city was confined to a single lane on much of the highway from Panama City to Capira and extra lanes opened for over 44,000 returning vehicles
Until midday Wednesday, November 5 there were 486 accidents and police handed out 5,542 tickets of which 647 were for speeding and 243 for driving under the influence of alcohol.
