Lightning strikes kill 4, injures 5

LIGHTNING killed four people and sent five to hospital in two separate incidents in 24 hours.

On Thursday October 23 Three people, including a teen, were killed in a strike in Cerro Blanco, in the Ngäbe Buglé Comarca. Five others were injured and taken to hospitals in David. Three of the victims were minors who were taken to the José Domingo De Obaldía Hospital while the two adults were taken to the Rafael Hernández Regional Hospital.
Officials with the civil defense agency Sinaproc said the bodies of the people who died in the incident were transported to the judicial morge in David. They were identified as Marcussi Bejarano, 38, Marisel Bejarano, 14, and Aura Bejarano, 56.
A student at the Moscoso Pliny School in Pedasi died on Friday after being struck while in the school yard. The Public Prosecutor is initiating investigations.
