Martinelli defends judge,president calls for inquiry
FORMER President Ricardo Martinelli on Tuesday September 30 defended Supreme Court Judge Alejandro Moncada Luna against corruption allegations that have been raised in the wake of his purchase of apartments valued at over $1.7 million in the last four years. “Mr Moncada did things well. I am sure that he can justify every cent,” Martinelli said at the opening of the Bio Museum in Amador” reports La Prensa
“If you want to accuse someone, that person should be able to defend himself,” Martinelli added. “It is very unfair to accuse someone without presenting evidence.”
Moncada Luna was appointed to the court by Martinelli in 2010. A year earlier, Moncada Luna had resigned from the PRD to help Martinelli’s presidential campaign.
