Someone sang, another singer gets six years

PANAMANIAN singing celebrity Francisco Manuel Espinosa, better known to his fans as Sargento (Sergeant) Espinosa), will be meeting a new audience for his warbling as he heads to La Joya prison to start a six year sentence for drug trafficking after someone sang to the police.

The sentence was handed down to him and Humphrey Clyment by the First Criminal Court.
The ruling, dated September 4, detailed the arrest of the two men after the National Police received a report of a car carrying drugs on October 4, 2012 in the Chepo area and that one of the occupants was surnamed Espinosa. In jailbird parlance, someone was singing to the police.
In their defense the men said they would be paid $500 to bring a vehicle from the area of the Public Market in San Felipe to Cañita Chepo and did not suspected they were transporting drugs.
During the police operation 25 kilos of cocaine was found in a false bottom of the car.
