More bones found in missing tourists search
MORE SKELETAL remains that may be related to two young Dutch women tourists have been found near the Culubre River in Alto Romero, Changuinola where body parts were first discovered says The Public Ministry (MP).
The lead prosecutor Betzaida Pittí said she received a phone call on Friday August 1 from some Indians who said they had found small bones that may be related to the case of Lisanne Kremers 22, and Kris, Froon 21.
Pittí said the new findings were then reported to a search party that had descended theEl Pianista trail on Thursday. They returned to the site to collect the bone fragments.
The search for evidence into how the girls died was reactivated on July 28. It had been delayed by bad weather.
In mid-June, Indians living in the Culubre River area found a backpack with mobile phones, a camera, glasses, lingerie, Lisanne’s passport and $83 in cash.
Residents later found some skeletal remains that the Panamanian authorities subjected to genetic tests that matched the DNA of the young women.
The recent finds are in the Forensics Laboratory for analysis.
The girls disappeared April 1 from Boquete, Chiriqui,a day after arriving.
