Airlines price war benefiting Panama passengers
COLOMBIA BOUND airline passengers have never had it so good The arrival of new competitors with frequencies between Colombia and Central America has generated a reduction in rates, favoring customers’ pockets and giving them a choice of airports.
The opening of routes from Medellin and Bogota to Panama, by the airlines AirPanama and VivaColombia with fares “… up to 70% less than those offered by the subsidiary of Copa Holdings” is already generating benefits to travelers reports CentralAmericaData.
“… Copa Airlines reduced the price of a ticket to Medellin to $170 (including taxes). Costs of the other two airlines are also not over $200.”
Prensa.com reports that “… consulted in light of the regional competition facing Copa Airlines, its CEO, Pedro Heilbron said the airline is used to competing with the best companies in the world, and that ‘for us competing is not anything new ‘…’these are situations that occur whenever there are new routes’.
Passengers can now catch planes to Colombia from Tocumen, Panama Pacifico,(the former US Howard air station) and Albrook.
