Tocumen gets new look leader and board
IN A CLEAN SWEEP of Ricardo Martinelli insiders, President Juan Carlos Varela has appointed, Minister of Economy and Finance Dulcidio de la Guardia as the chairman of the board of Tocumen, S.A., the company that manages Tocumen International Airport. His appointment is for seven years.
The president also appointed Secretary of Goals of the Presidency Carlos Duboy as treasurer, businessman Francisco José Salerno Abad as vice chairman and lawyer Eduardo Enrique Valle as secretary.
Vidalia Fernández de Casado was appointed as a representative of the airlines, José Frade Martín as representative of duty free entrepreneurs and Rigoberto Lee Cerezo as the representative of the airport workers.
The new appointments replace the previous board formed by Frank de Lima, Riccardo Francolini, Salomón Shamah, Henri Mizrachi, Jack Betesh and Jorge García Icaza.
The terms of de la Guardia and Abad, who was appointed for six years, could be shortened if a bill seeking to limit the terms of appointed officials to five years is approved by the National Assembly.
