PRD blood letting continues

FOUR SENIOR PRD officials have resigned from the controlling committee (CEN)  with one of them claiming the exits were because of corruption within the controlling body.

Those who have stepped down are:  Javier Martínez Acha, Leandro Ávila, Doris Zapata and Juan Felipe Pitty

Martínez Acha is Assistant Secretary-General, Ávila is Senior Vice President, Zapata is Third Secretary and Pitty is Fifth Undersecretary.

“Corruption within the PRD is what has led to the resignation of the four members of the CEN,” said Martínez Acha.

He added that “we are leaving the party in the hands of a single person who does not want to cede power and wants to determine the future.”

Zapata, on the other hand, said that “we cannot continue to ignore reality. We are hostages going in a direction that the legal representative of the party wants to go in.”

On July 3, Juan Carlos Navarro, the party’s presidential candidate who came in third in the May 4 general election, resigned from the CEN.

PRD President Benicio Robinson has announced he will not resign prior to new internal elections. Rogelio Paredes Robles, Crescencia Prado, Maribel Coco and Roberto Ábrego also remain reports La Prensa.PRD Blood letting continues with top resignationsFOUR SENIOR PRD officials have resigned from the controlling committee (CEN) with one of them claiming the exits were because of corruption within the controlling body. Those who have stepped down are: Javier Martí¬nez Acha, Leandro Ávila, Doris Zapata and Juan Felipe Pitty Martínez Acha is Assistant Secretary-General, Ávila is Senior Vice President, Zapata is Third Secretary and Pitty is Fifth Undersecretary.”Corruption within the PRD is what has led to the resignation of the four members of the CEN,” said Martí¬nez Acha.He added that “we are leaving the party in the hands of a single person who does not want to cede power and wants to determine the future.”Zapata, on the other hand, said that “we cannot continue to ignore reality.
