Martinelli security law heading for repeal
ANOTHER controversial Ricardo Martinelli measure seems to be destined for the trash can.
A draft law is being prepared aiming to repeal the law passed in the final days of his administration that expanded the security details for the families of former presidents, benefiting his wife and sons.
The initiative will be presented by Partido Popular (PP) Deputy Juan Carlos Arango, likely on Monday July 14 according to National Assembly President Adolfo Valderrama reports La Prensa
The law will amend the one that appeared in the Government Gazette on June 23 that extended protection to former first ladies for 10 years and children of former presidents for five years.
