Date set for Martinelli statement in Italy extortion trial

The witness statement of Panama’s former president, Ricardo Martinelli, has been set for Thursday September 18, in the Naples, Italy, court calendar in the hearings process that charges Valter Lavítola for allegedly extorting the company Impregilo.

The information was given to La Prensa on Thursday July 3 by officials of the Court of Naples.
Lavítola is charged by Impregilo for allegedly extorting $22 million to fund the cost of the Veraguas pediatric hospital that former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi., had promised to donate.
