Varela names new bosses for Culture, Transport, Sport and more
THE ANTICIPATED house cleaning by president Juan Carlos Varela, continued apace on Sunday, June 29 with the announcement of his new designations of government authorities.
Varela announced the appointment of Mariana Nunez, as director of the National Institute of Culture; Surse Pierpoint, manager of the Colon Free Zone; Leo Gonzalez, as administrator of the Panama Pacific Agency; Fernando Alfaro as Director of Public Registry; Roberto Arango and as director of the Panamanian Institute of Sports (Pandeportes).
Julio González Varela will be the new director of the Transit Authority (ATTT); Carlos Gonzalez Director of National Land Management Authority (Anati); Irving Santos, director of the Institute of Agricultural Insurance; Ramon Hernandez, manager of the National Mortgage Bank and Juan Cordoba, manager of the National Bingo.
Additionally Varela explained named Marcelino De Leon as Deputy Administrator of the Panama Pacific Agency; Gisel Olmedo, deputy director of Public Registry; and Henry Pozo, as deputy of Pandeportes.
Other deputy director postings are” Ruben Chavez, ATTT; Rainier Del Rosario, Anati; Jorge Aquiles, Institute of Agricultural Marketing; Armando Guerra. National Lottery.
The other designations are Gabriel Sanchez, secretary general of the National Lottery, and Gabriel Church, general secretary of the Urban and Household. Authority.
