Energy saving restrictions to end June 16

ENERGY-SAVING restrictions placed on the private sector April 10 will be lifted Monday June 16 says Panama's Energy Ministry.

The measures regulated the use of lighted signs and air conditioners, However, the Minstry reminds people that it is important to continue to conserve energy.

In resolution 2091, dated June 10, The Secretariat of Energy noted that water levels in reservoirs has reached a level where normal power generation can begin.
 In addition, thermal electric plants that have been out for various reasons are expected to come back on line, thus increasing the country's capacity to generate power.
