WITH THE RAINY season in full swing Panama’s Civil Protection System (SINAPROC) has issued an alert for people planning to visit beaches or rivers and on Sunday, June 1, deployed 1,200 staff to 23 coastal regions.
They will remain there until next weekend because of school holidays.
The organization warns that the chances of flooding, fallen trees , landslides and drownings have increased with strong currents and rising rivers. The best advice is to stay away from beaches and rivers says Director José Arrocha.
