THE MAN who pulled the trigger and killed journalist Ramon Monchi Cano, in Chiriqui says it was an accident.

Amilcar Villarreal Quintero, who is charged in the shooting death, admitted Thursday, May 8, that he fired the weapon, but  said that it was an accident.

Through his lawyer, Duay Lizondro, Villarreal said that he went to the house to warn the journalist that he was going to be attacked by another defendant, José Gabriel Miranda, the godson of the victim. The shooter said Cano was hit by accident.
Miranda's attorney, Samuel Duque, said that his client has not said much about the incident, but has maintained he did not fire any weapon.
