Gangland killing in Multiplaza restaurant
HORRRIFIED diners in a restaurant in Panama’s most upscale shopping mall, were witnesses to a gangland execution on Friday evening, April 2.
Jacinto Morales, aka 'El Viejo ' and 'The Tiger’ was dressed in white,and sitting with two Colombian men and a woman in the Grand Café in Multiplaza when, at 7.30 pm, an obese man entered the restaurant. looked around and left, reports EL Siglo. Seconds later a young man wearing a hat walked in and approached the table where his target was sitting and, without speaking, fired a bullet into his head.
He left the room, but immediately returned and pumped four more shots into the body. A second person was injured.
Police sources said El Viejo was involved with Calor Calor one of one of the bloodiest gangs in the country, previous attempt on his life was made near the Union Club earlier this year.
After the killing two men fled the plaza on a motor cycle and were followed by a policemen in civilian clothes. He drove his car at the bike, but they ran off before he could arrest them, says El Siglo.
Patrons in the cinema complex in the mall were advised not to leave as there had been a shooting. The story, along with photos of the police cordoning off the area, were quickly circulating on social networks.
