OAS will monitor Panama elections
The ORGANIZATION of American States (OAS) dispatching a team of "international experts and observers.” to overlook Panama’s May 4elections.
The 56 strong observation mission will be directed by former Peruvian deputy Lourdes Flores Nano , appointed by OAS secretary general José Miguel Insulza.
On Monday, May 5 the committee will make a preliminary report and when the process is complete, it will be referred to the Perma.
The Carter Center – founded in 1982 by former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn will also have a delegation, but it wil not be classified as a observation team.
Both the Carter Center and the OAS are calling on the electorate to vote early and uphold the law.
