Police facing trial for alleged beating of handcuffed youth
TWO POLICEMEN who allegedly beat and tortured a handcuffed youth will face trial on April 30.
They will appear before thtSeventh Criminal Court trial charged with crimes of personal injury and torture against Rafael Martinez, on September 2012 in San Miguel.
The defendants are agent Mario Rodriguez and Lieutenant Boris Rodriguez, who arrested and handcuffed and then beat Martinez in different parts of the body, according to research.
Rafael Martinez, the victim's father of the same name, said that at the preliminary hearing in November 2013, it was proved that the police beat his son repeatedly while handcuffed.
According to Martinez, his lawyers requested the maximum penalty for both agents reports La Prenza
He saidthat he also filed a claim for $5 million against the police.
