Construction employers ready to continue talking
The Panamana Construction Chamber(CAPAC) says it is willing to return to the negotiating table despite the strike call made ??by theUnion of Construction Workers and Similar Trades (Suntracs).
Eduardo Rodriguez, CEO of Capac, negotiator and spokesman, said Wednesday, April 23, that the construction guild proposed an increase of 21% over four years, while Suntracs called for an increase of 80%.
Rodriguez said the two sides remained at the bargaining table until 5. 00 am Wednesday but could not reach an agreement to avoid a strike.
The Capac spokesman said that negotiations would resume Wednesday evening.
