Two dead 26 injured in homeward bound accidents

TWO PEOPLE died and at least 25 were injured in a traffic accident during the return of scores of thousands of Easter weekend holidaymakers to the city on Sunday morning April 20.

The accident, involving a Penonomé Panama route coaster bus and a sedan happened in the La Ermita district of San Carlos.

When staff of the Unified Emergency Management and the National Traffic Police arrived at the accident scene the injured were taken to the emergency room of the Social security clinic Vega Juan
The accident caused a massive traffic jam on the already congested Trans-America highway with some 87,000 people attempting to head home.
A police officer was injured. in an earlier accident in the Bijao area.
Authorities issued a call to drivers to respect traffic signs.
