La Prensa Twitter account counterfeited

WITH LESS than a month to go to the election the social network Twitter account of one of Panama’s most influencial newspapers, La Prensa (@prensacom,) has been counterfeited.

La Prensa, a strong critic of some government activities, corruption and dirty election tricks is often referred to as “the opposition” by government spokesmen.

The newspaper reported the counterfeiting move early evening, Monday April 7. At 6:33 p.m., the fake account @Prensa.com had added 1,622 followers. The fake account had 208 tweets, many of which are illustrated with photos and videos said the publication
Corprensa clarified that the only version on twitter it has is @prensacom, which is a verified account.
