Reward offered as missing tourists become police matter

BOQUETE, Panama, merchants are offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the whereabouts of the two young, Dutch women tourists missing since they went for a hike Tuesday, April 1.

Ingrid, Lommers manager of Spanish at “Locations”, the school where the two youngmissing women took Spanish classes, made the announcement during a tour of Chiriqui radio stations on Sunday.

The families of Lisanne Froon, 22 and Kris Kremers 21 are flying to Panama from the Netherlands. Panama on a flight from the Netherlands.
On Sunday members of Panama’s civil protection service (SINAPROC) and citizen volunteers from Boquete focused their search in the area of La Pianista one of the last places where the two young women were seen. While SINAPROC continues to be involved. the disappearance has moved from search and rescue to a criminal investigation and the Directorate of Judicial Investigation is reviewing security cameras in commercial outlets and stores, seeking evidence.
Arturo Alvarado, director of the National Civil Protection System ( SINAPROC ) confirmed that a group of 20 rescuers is still involved in the search.
Public Security Minister, Jose Raul Mulino confirmed that the National Air Service is conducting aerial searches.
