Election alliance to defeat ruling party?

FRESH HINTS of a possible opposition partnership to ensure that the defeat Panama’s ruling Democratic Change party surfaced on Carnival weekend.

Gerardo Solis running mate of Juan Carlos Navarro, PRD (Democratic Revolutionary Party) presidential candidate and , Juan Carlos Varela, Panamenista leader voiced thoughts of a “natural alliance” to defeat the CD headed by President Ricardo Marinelli in the May elections.

“The people who vote for the opposition have no choice. An alliance, is ultimately popular wisdom,“ Solis told La Prensa.
And Varela said: “It will provide … [an alliance], no pressure. People do not want the [CD] continuity“
