First Lady says decision ro run for VP not influenced by Martinelli

FIRST LADY Marta linaresMartinelli said Sunday February 16 that her husand, President Ricardo Martinelli.did nothing to influence her decision to accept the CD vice presidential nomination.

"I think that life consists of challenges and decisions," she said.

She said she also considered running for president, but in the end  I supported José Domingo Arias, who occupies that position today reports La Prensa
"Many people talked to me about being the candidate, and it would have interested me," she said. "But ultimately that was a responsibility that I did not want to take."
Questioned about the voices that have risen against her candidacy, which many have classified as "the re-election of Martinelli with a woman's face," the first lady said that these are "unfounded" allegations and described them as "sexist."
"I just obey my conscience," she said. "I am a totally different person than the president."
