Linares calls on CD to adhere to ethical pact
CD vice presidential candidate Marta Linares Martinelli attended the signing of the ethical campaign pact, leading up to the election on Friday, February14, and called upon all members of the party to adhere to it.
At the same time she said that she has never politicized the office of the first lady, which she has occupied since 2009, and has no plans to step down as she still has many commitments.
Linares added that she is not a public official and that it would not be fair to shut down programs run by her office since there are many people who depend on them reports La Prensa
The decision to nominate the first lady as a candidate has generated criticism due to fears that she could use her profile and state resources for political gains.
