ACP makes another proposal to get work going on Canal expansion
ATHE PANAMA Canal Authority (ACP ) on Friday made another proposal to Grupo Unidos por el Canal (GUPC ) for the resumption of work by the consortium to expand the waterway.
In a brief statement, says the ACAN-EFE news agency the ACP said its proposal, which " does not increase the contract price or accepting some claims " would allow the resumption of work " as soon as possible."
The initiative of the ACP is based on, the parties providing financial resources to restart work soon as possible, according to the statement
" As we prepare to take the actions that the contract allows us to reactivate the project, we keep open the possibility of reaching an agreement and for that we are making this effort ," said the Canal administrator Luis Quijano in the ACP communique.
The proposal, subject to review and approval by the parties provides for delivery to the site of the GUPC of gates and termination dates of the work.
