Panama City garbage customers owe $58.4 million
THE WOES of Panama’s garbage authority (AAUD) continue unabated with the announcement Sunday, February 2, that there is another major collection problem.
This time the problem is not picking up unending piles of garbage, but collecting payment from defaulting customers, business and residential, who have left AAUD in the hole to the sum of $58.4 million.
The current bad debt for residential customers in the districts of the capital amounts to almost $53 million.
