Thumbs down on Martinell family involvement in State deals

A VAST majority of Panama’s citizens have reject the sons of President Ricardo Martinelli Berrocal taking part in business and contracts involving State entities.

87.6 % of those surveyed by the Quantix Panama for  La Prensa – said participation of Ricardo and Enrique Martinelli Linares in these dealing was not acceptable.

They are not on any State payroll and they are not named in any entity nor are they elected officials . The Constitution does not provide functions to the immediate family of the President of the Republic. Says La Prensa.
Recently information from a prosecution in Italy revealed that Ricardo Martinelli Linares participated in negotiations to build modular prisons in the country, a contract that normally would go through the Ministry of Government.. The deal did not close.
The survey was conducted from January10 to 12 with a 1,208 people, and has a margin of error of 2.8 %. Full results will be published on Monday, January 20, in the La Prensa supplement. Pulse of the Nation.
