The shadow buses of Metro Panama

AS USER complaints about poor service and long waits for buses continue  to climb in Panama, there is still no date for the entry into service of the 100 extra buses promised by Mi Bus, the transportation system’s operator.

The coaster-type buses are said to be rented by Mi Bus to improve service in certain areas, but seem to be hiding in the shadows.

The 100 buses will cover feeder routes in several areas of the city during peak hours.
To address mounting consumer complaints the company announced the rental of coaster type buses in October, but they are still not in service.

In response to inquiries from La Prensa, Mi Bus said: "For the moment there is no concrete date for the implementation of this initiative," adding that it has to be coordinated with existing service.
