2 weeks needed to erase Noriega houses

THE DEMOLITION of two houses once inhabited by former Panama dictator Manuel Antonio Noriega. in Altos del Golf, continued Friday and will take about two weeks to finish.

"It is not an easy task," said Jaime Cohen, deputy administrator of the waste agency AAUD. "The conditions are deplorable."

Demolition began on Thursday January 9. The houses are being torn down because they are breeding sites for mosquitoes, which transmit dengue, and are home to vermin.
