Lottery boss resigns in midst of bribery scandal
EMILIO SOMOZA, in the eye of an alleged political bribery storm, resigned as director of the National Lottery on Monday, January 6.

The resignation of Somoza comes only a few days after PRD youth leader Félix Moulanier accused him of offering him a bribe to switch parties reports La Prensa. Moulanier remained with the PRD and has denounced the Molirena for trying to bribe members of other parties to switch reports La Prensa.
Somoza claimed on Friday, January 3, that the PRD was trying to slander and libel him.
