Cuban refugees on hunger strike in Panama

SIX CUBANS who were granted refugee status by President Ricardo Martinelli, are now on hunger strike outside the headquarters of Panama’s Foreign Ministry.

They are demanding that their families be allowed to join them. They started their protest Thursday, December 19, and will remain until Foreign Minister, Fernando Nunez Fabrega deals with their demands they explained.

Meanwhile, it was learned that the Chancellor Nunez Fabrega was out of the country and due back later in the day from the United States.
On November 29, President Ricardo Martinelli, traveled to Miami to be recognized for providing asylum for the refugees.
