Visitor editor falls to death at Thanksgiving celebration

JACOB ERHLER, the gregarious and well liked editor of the Visitor/Visitante, died in a fall from the 30th floor of a building in Paitilla on Thursday, November 28, while celebrating American Thanksgiving.

There is little early detail but police are investigating the incident. 

Erhler hailed from Seattle and led a peripatetic life in Panama, having lived in different parts of the city from Casco Viejo and Bella Vista to Balboa.

He was a popular, and with his height, a highly visible figure at social events and was a strong supporter of the Carols By Candlelight festival , and was a key proponent in discussions that led to The Visitor becoming a sponsor of the event.

Erhler was also an active supporter of the Theatre Guild of Ancon (TGA). 
Before joining The Visitor six year’s ago he worked in real estate.
