Fresh confrontation between medical staff and government
BARELY two weeks after the end of health sector strike over the hiring of foreign doctor, acrimony between medical professionals and the government continues. The National Negotiating Medical Commission ( Comenenal ) , said it remained on alert.
On Saturday November 16 , Fernando Castaneda Comenenal spokesman , said that health authorities are failing the agreements signed on November 1 that ended a 36 day work stoppage.
Castaneda said that both Social Security Fund (CSS ) and the Ministry of Health (MoH ) , have defaulted on the issue of no reprisals against staff who remained on strike.
He said that both institutions have not complied with the agreement , within which there would be no written warnings , dismissals, transfers, rotations except those who had applied, and no deductions from wages
He charged that even if health personnel who worked during the days of protests have had their pay discounted
Castaneda did not rule out that in the coming hours further action will be announced resulting from decisions taken by the authorities.
