Brewery teaching responsible approach to alcohol
THE NATIONAL Brewery , S.A. ( CNSA ) , program has been running workshops in Azuero bars, casinos, and discos , as part of its " Responsible Business” program.
The program is intended to: “discourage the irresponsible consumption of alcohol, prevent alcohol consumption by under 18s and to help promote responsible adults ,” says Ena Terán, Sustainable Development Specialist of CNSA
The workshops were run by Glasswing International , an independent non- profit organization which creates partnerships between institutions to implement health projects, education and volunteering .
Topics covered were the health effects of alcohol, managing people under the influence of alcohol , the sale of beverages with alcohol content to minors, responsible consumption , risky behaviors and legal liabilities .
This is the first year of the program’s implementation in Azuero, and the second set of workshops.
The first were conducted in seven establishments in the City of Panamá with a target 125 establishments in the country.
