Catholic priest murdered in Colon

A SPANISH -born Catholic priest, was murdered in Colon on Wednesday November 30.

 Anibal Gomez, 67, who has served for 20 years in Panama, was killed in the afternoon at the residence of Bishop Emeritus of Colon and Guna Yala , Carlos María Ariz, who was absent at the time. 

A public outcry was described on various radio news programs with calls from listeners  to ensure that the crime does not go unpunished .
Father Teófilo Rodríguez , of the Citadel Jesus and Mary said: "After the brutal murder of Father Anibal Gomez, the world goes on even as tragedies occur , but nothing evil goes unnoticed in the eyes of God. We can never ignore his righteousness " .
Police investigations are underway in the community of Jose Dominador Bazan , a reverted area, formerly Fort Davis , characterized as a quiet neighborhood. Currently, It is home to one of the principal National Police headquarters on the Atlantic coast.
